Yuwa 2025 – A Powerful Day of Connection, Culture & Celebration
The day was masterfully led by Stan Grant, who served as MC and moderator, bringing wisdom and heart to the conversations. Keynote speaker Nornie Bero inspired the room with her story of business and culture, while international guest Harlan Schilling from the First Nations Centre for Excellence in British Columbia, Canada, brought a powerful global perspective.

GABC Celebrates Youth Voices at Takeover Goldfields!
GABC was proud to attend the ABC Takeover Youth Event held at the Goldfields Arts Centre, a powerful celebration of the stories, ideas, and leadership of young people from across the region.
Takeover Goldfields is an inspiring initiative by the ABC that works with local schools to uncover and amplify the voices of young people. The program empowers them to share their stories, speak up about what matters most, and connect with their communities in meaningful ways.
It was an honour for GABC to witness the creativity, passion, and resilience of these young storytellers. Events like these remind us of the incredible potential in our next generation, and why it’s so important to continue creating platforms that support and celebrate youth leadership.
Congratulations to all the young participants, your voices matter, and your stories are shaping the future of the Goldfields.
Ignite Collaborative
Ignite Collaborative Sessions Continue in July
Following another successful Ignite Collaborative Walk-in Session earlier this month, GABC is pleased to announce that these important sessions will continue monthly.
The most recent session brought together a strong mix of Aboriginal business owners, community leaders, educators, and government representatives, with a focus on strengthening business development opportunities in the region.
Highlights included a presentation from the TAFE team on the Free Business Ready Skillset Course, support offered by the Aboriginal Empowerment Unit at DEMIRS, and insightful input from GEDC’s Jude Daley and Gary Bonney.
These sessions are proving to be valuable spaces for connection, information sharing, and building strong foundations for Aboriginal-led business in the Goldfields.

Local Capability Fund – Aboriginal Business Round
Eligible Aboriginal businesses can receive up to $50,000 in funding to build capability and competitiveness, especially in the Clean Energy Sector.
Key Details:
- Must be at least 50% Aboriginal-owned
- Registered with Aboriginal Business Directory WA or Supply Nation
- Operating in WA for at least 12 months
- Focus on businesses participating in the Clean Energy Sector
- Employ fewer than 200 people
Funding can support:
- Consultancy services
- Training
- Capital equipment upgrades
- Business systems and infrastructure improvements

Cost: $600 for full 3-day participation or $300 per day (ex GST)

Plus, your membership could potentially be free for the first 12 months
